HANOI, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) — Vietnam’s economy is projected to grow by 6.1 percent next year, according to the updated World Economic Outlook 2025 report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
This figure remains unchanged from the growth forecast for 2024. Vietnam’s consumer prices will rise by 3.5 percent in 2025, a decrease of 0.6 percent compared to the previous year, according to the IMF.
According to the economic development scenarios presented by the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Southeast Asian country’s economy is forecast to grow at around 6.5 to 7.5 percent next year.
While delivering a speech at the National Assembly’s meeting this week, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the government would strive to achieve a higher growth rate at 7 to 7.5 percent in 2025. ■
